Living Green
San Francisco Decorator Showcase 2007 San Francisco Decorator Showcase

Participation as a design firm in this year's San Francisco Decorator Showcase was by invitation only, and participants were required to be "alumnis" or past participants in the Showcase. Living Green was asked to address the Motor Court Terrace, Grand Exterior Stairway, and for the first time, an interior space, the Elevator Foyer.

Drawing on an extensive inventory of fine antiques and artifacts from the Luciano Tempo line, designer Davis Dalbok, along with design associates, Steven Schwager and Dat Pham, re-created the look and feel of an authentic Italian garden estate.

The plant design features a palette of fascinating and colorful succulents paired with more traditional pines, cycads, maples and cedars. Artist and horticulturist extraordinaire, Marcia Donahue, crafted a fantastical stand of ceramic plantforms that incorporated sculpted turtles and segmented vertical 'bamboo' topped with lotus leaves and seed pods.A massive 19th century Burmese standing Buddha greets and blesses all guests as they ascend the grand entry exterior staircase. Jane Richardson Mack and associates, drove the re-finishing process that transformed the dark, greystone elevator foyer from a cold, crumbling mausoleum to the warm and welcoming look of a lavish, 30's Hollywood mansion. Well into the renovation process, Living Green offered to design and direct the installation of the street level garden that faces the Baker Street side of the property.
